The safety distance depends on the mesh size of the fence panels. For close-range perimeter protection around a welding robot, it is recommended to use fencing with smaller mesh sizes to prevent operators from reaching into the dangerous area. If the mesh size is larger ( 50 × 100 mm), a longer installation distance between the fence perimeter and the robot’s maximum operating range should be maintained.
Both materials are transparent, but polycarbonate (PC) fencing has better impact resistance, up to 250 times more than glass, making it suitable for heavy-duty robot processing or applications where there is a high risk of sparks. Acrylic fencing offers higher cost-effectiveness and is suitable for inspection stations and light-duty co-robot workstations.
For standard indoor factory floor applications, we use an electrostatic powder coating process on machine safety fencing surfaces. For humid, corrosive, or cleanroom environments, we provide 304 or 316 stainless steel safety fencing to prevent rust and avoid particle contamination.
To meet ISO standards, our factory’s mesh fences are designed with vertical openings to minimize the number of footholds. In addition, the top of the guardrail has a smooth edge, and the columns are raised to 2.5 meters to prevent unauthorized climbing and crossing into the robotic arm’s operating area.
